Premier League: Hugo Lloris believes Tottenham are improving fast under Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (Lyon to Spurs for £8m, 2012): Now Spurs' first-choice, the 27-year-old bounced back from initial struggles and is now one of the league's best

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris believes the players are getting closer to realising manager Mauricio Pochettino’s vision.

After an indifferent start at White Hart Lane, Pochettino’s side have embarked on a six-game unbeaten run in the Premier League and are just 2 points off the top four.

That run has resulted in three clean sheets for Spurs, the most recent of those against Manchester United last weekend when Lloris produced a superb performance.

The France international believes Tottenham just need to start taking their chances in order to improve their standing.

And Lloris would like to see the goals flowing against Chelsea on New Year’s Day to avenge their last defeat in the Premier League on December 3.

"We are getting better and better every game," Lloris said.

"Defensively, when you get a run of games it's easier for everyone. We start to understand and to know what the manager wants, what he is expecting every game.

"It's important to be strong, to not concede goals, not concede chances.

"But it's not enough to win games. You need to score and to do more offensively."

Spurs are without a win in 10 matches against Chelsea and Lloris knows they must be at their best to end that run.

"This is Chelsea's style," Lloris added. "They want to give you confidence with the ball and then with the smallest mistake they punish you. We are aware of that.

"It will be a tough game and we need concentration and desire in front of our crowd to get a great performance.

"We need to keep going. Every game is different and we need a lot of energy for another big game."
