Aly Cissokho is remaining coy on his future at Aston Villa, following speculation of a move in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old has attracted interest from both Tottenham and Napoli after enjoying an impressive spell under Paul Lambert at left-back.

"At the moment, I’m happy," he said. "I’ve been here for six months and I’m happy to be playing. I am playing and learning every game and I’m improving in my head and it is good. I hope to continue to play well and we’ll see."

Villa are just five points above the relegation zone and Lambert will be desperate to keep the defender at the club to help improve upon that gap.

“The first thing is to think about the safety for the club," Cissokho added. "After that, we can see if we can be in the top 10 or something like that.
