Everton must wait until the end of the week to find out the extent of Kevin Mirallas’ ankle injury.
The 27-year-old winger was stretchered off in stoppage time during Everton’s 3-1 at home to QPR on Monday Night Football, following a heavy challenge from Jordon Mutch.
Mirallas has undergone a series of scans on Tuesday and boss Roberto Martinez has confirmed they will not find out the results for another “two or three days”.
He said: “It’s clearly ankle damage. We are still doing some tests and nothing is conclusive yet.”
Speaking to Sky Sports after Mirallas joined Steven Naismith and Ross Barkley on the scoresheet, Martinez admitted there was some concern over the Belgian.
“He got a really bad knock to his ankle and it was a real disappointment to see him carried off at the end.”
Mirallas, who joined Everton from Olympiakos in 2012, has been an important part of the first team this season, making 12 appearances and scoring five goals.
