Dave Edwards has said sorry to Wolves fans after Kenny Jackett's side slumped to their fourth straight defeat.

They were thumped 4-0 at Brentford on Saturday and have conceded 14 goals in their last four games, scoring just once.

It has seen them tumble down the Sky Bet Championship to 12th ahead of Saturday's visit of in-form Bournemouth.

And midfielder Edwards knows their recent run has not been acceptable.

"We have to make our apologies to the fans," he told the Wolverhampton Express & Star.

"For whatever reason at the moment, it's just not good enough.

"As soon as we conceded the second goal, like against Forest, we just capitulated.

"We can't do that and for that we are sorry to the fans - it's not a good display for them to see.

"Hopefully they know that we are doing all we can inside to try and put things right.

"We will be working our socks off this week to make sure we can turn it around and get some confidence from somewhere going into the Bournemouth game on Saturday."
