Elliott has ban upheld

Bristol City will be without captain Wade Elliott for three matches after the FA upheld his red card at Swindon.

A Robins statement revealed how a 'lack of clear video evidence' was why the FA's disciplinary panel did not overturn the decision to send off the former Burnley man just three minutes into their 1-0 loss at their local rivals. And their skipper will now miss games against Preston, Peterborough and AFC Telford. "This decision does not support the implication of guilt, more that the video evidence available to us was not conducive for the panel to be able to overturn the referee's decision," boss Steve Cotterill told the club's official website. "It's hugely frustrating and unjust that Wade will now serve a three-match ban. Understandably he's disappointed, an emotion I'm sure everyone associated with the club concurs with."
