On-loan York striker Deon Burton has returned to parent club Scunthorpe after picking up a knee injury.

The 38-year-old veteran, who linked up with ex-Iron boss Russ Wilcox at Bootham Crescent, sustained medial ligament damage in the FA Cup contest with AFC Wimbledon at the weekend. Burton had been due to remain with the Minstermen until the end of November but has returned to Scunthorpe to undergo treatment on a problem which could keep him out for up to three months. Burton featured in just two games for York after making five outings for the Iron earlier this term.
