Sky Sports understands several English clubs are weighing up a move for highly-rated Inverness Caledonian Thistle starlet Ryan Christie.

Christie has been earning rave reviews in Scotland and has played a key role in helping Inverness to second place in the Scottish Premiership this season.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the best young talents to emerge north of the border in recent years and he was called up to the Scotland Under 21 squad earlier this year.

Christie, who has come through the ranks at Inverness, has established himself as a key player in John Hughes' side since breaking into the first-team late last year and was named SPFL Young Player of the Month for August.

Scouts from England have been flocking to the Caledonian Stadium this season to cast an eye over Christie and Inverness are bracing themselves for interest in the creative midfielder in January.

The likes of Burnley, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday are all thought to be monitoring Christie's situation and could move for the player when the transfer window reopens in January.
