Plymouth Argyle and Luton Town are both in line for a double awards boost after the clubs were nominated in the Manager and Player of the Month categories for October in Sky Bet League Two.

Argyle boss John Sheridan and defender Carl McHugh are up for honours, as are Luton manager John Still and striker Mark Cullen.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports' Football League expert Don Goodman, Football League head of communications John Nagle, League Managers' Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.

The Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month nominees for October are...

Justin Edinburgh (Newport County)

Edinburgh did not panic over his side’s stuttering start to the season. He showed faith in his approach and players and was rewarded with a haul of 10 points from five games with victories over York City, Dagenham & Redbridge and Southend United.

Micky Mellon (Shrewsbury Town)

Mellon ignored cup distractions and demonstrated his clever man-management skills to lead the Shrews to an impressive four wins out of five in the month, including a breathtaking 5-0 home victory over promotion rivals Bury.

Plymouth manager John Sheridan

John Sheridan (Plymouth Argyle)

Sheridan oversaw a perfect defensive month in which Argyle kept five clean sheets in as many games, garnering 13 points from 15 in the process. He has instilled belief in the West Country that Plymouth's days in the doldrums may be nearing an end.

Luton manager John Still

John Still (Luton Town)

Under Still’s guidance, Luton extended their winning streak to seven games, adding five in October, to move top of Sky Bet League Two. His passion and commitment have brought exciting times and crowds of 10,000 back to Kenilworth Road.

The Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month nominees for October are...

Kwesi Appiah (Cambridge United) - striker

Three goals and two assists in the month means Appiah is enjoying his loan from Crystal Palace. A cool finish against Cheltenham Town was bettered by a brilliant individual run and rising shot in the 5-1 win over Oxford United.

Luton Town's Mark Cullen in action

Mark Cullen (Luton Town) - striker

The 22-year-old made the most of his starts in October with five goals in as many games, including the perfect hat-trick in a 3-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge - a header followed by right-foot, then left-foot shots.

Carl McHugh (Plymouth Argyle) - central defender

The former Gaelic football player has made another impressive switch recently - from left-back to a role as the central man in a back three which didn’t concede a goal in October, partly due to his header off the line against Carlisle United.

Brad Potts (Carlisle United) - midfielder

Carlisle’s upsurge in form can be partly attributed to the form of 20-year-old Potts, whose elegant play from midfield helped the Cumbrian side score a division-equalling 11 goals in five games. He managed two of them.

The winners will be announced on Friday morning.
