Davies urges Preston focus

Kevin Davies insists Preston can't afford to rest on their laurels when they take a seven-match winning run to Leyton Orient.

Veteran striker Davies was instrumental in Saturday's 3-2 defeat of Fleetwood after being brought on at half-time when North End were trailing 2-0. Joe Garner hit the headlines with a hat-trick as Preston stayed second in League One, but Davies also shone as he builds back up to full fitness following injury problems. Ahead of the trip to face Orient, who will have new manager Mauro Milanese in charge, he told PNE Player: "We know we can't take anything for granted. "I know they've had a not so great start to the season but there's no easy games as such - we have to go and earn everything we get now." On his own recovery from injury, Davies added: "I think when you've been playing for so long, when you get a little setback, you do come back hungrier. "I hate being injured and it's always good to get back training with the lads and back involved with the first team and ultimately out there at the weekend playing. So it's good to be back and just enjoying it."
