Gillingham bring in Doughty

Gillingham have announced the signing of Queens Park Rangers midfielder Michael Doughty on a month-long loan.

Doughty, 21, who spent time on loan at Stevenage last season, goes straight into the squad to face Crawley in League One on Saturday. Having established himself in the youth set-up at QPR, the Welsh Under-21 international has made just one senior appearance at Loftus Road, with his sole appearance coming as a late substitute in an FA Cup tie against Blackburn in 2011. Manager Peter Taylor will hope that Doughty can help Gillingham escape their recent run of form which sees them without a win in six League One games and sitting 19th in the table.
