Northampton manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that Alex Nicholls will return early from his loan spell at Exeter.
The Cobblers had a 24-hour recall option on the striker which they have now triggered, meaning he will return to Sixfields immediately. Nicholls made six appearances for the Grecians, scoring once - his first since breaking his leg back in October 2012. "We have called Alex back and he will be involved at Portsmouth on Tuesday night," Wilder told the official website. "He's had a good chunk of games there which has been great for him but it was never going to be a long-term thing and we're looking forward to having him back."
