Kevin McNaughton admits unrest among Bolton supporters is having an effect on the less experienced players at the Championship club.
A number of Wanderers fans again vented their frustration from the stands during Saturday's 2-0 home loss to Derby, while two even invaded the pitch to protest at the poor form shown.
There was another demonstration of discontent outside the stadium at the end of that third straight defeat, which left Bolton in the bottom three, with just five points from nine league games.
"It isn't nice," McNaughton, who is on loan from Cardiff, told The Bolton News. "I don't want to sound callous but I don't tend to hear it - it's just noise on the pitch. Having people come on to the pitch, that's a different thing. That was a strange one.
"But I am experienced and I have dealt with quite a bit of abuse down the years. For the younger lads, I don't think it helps."
