Sky Bet Championship: Millwall midfielder Nicky Bailey to return to full training

Millwall midfielder Nicky Bailey is poised to return to full training after recovering from a calf injury.

Bailey has missed the start of the season and suffered a recurrence of the problem when he made his comeback against Fulham last month.

But the 30-year-old is now close to returning to action along with teenage defender Sid Nelson, who has been out for two months with a foot injury.

Lions physio Bobby Bacic told the club website: "Nicky and Sid are looking to leave the treatment room very soon. Both of them are progressing well with their outdoor rehab work.

"They came in over the international break while some of their colleagues were away to carry on with their fitness work. The next stage for both of them will be to rejoin the main group for training.

"The international break has been a bit of a mixed blessing for us. It's been good in that we could work with players who have been suffering with niggles, but at the same time we are well aware that the squad will be stretched following the break with a number of matches.

"Thankfully, though, numbers in the treatment room are low and we know the importance of that with a busy few weeks ahead."
