Bruna released by Tranmere

Gerardo Bruna has been released by Tranmere after failing to meet the fitness levels demanded by boss Rob Edwards.

The 23-year-old ex-Blackpool winger had signed a one-month deal at Rovers but featured just once, as a substitute in the defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Capital One Cup. "He trained with us for about six or seven weeks and has struggled to get his fitness levels up to those of the others in the squad," Edwards said at a press conference on Thursday. "We gave him as much time as possible and he's a hugely talented player, but his problem was always going to be his fitness levels at League Two level and he struggled to get up to that."
