Sky Sports understands Queens Park Rangers are lining up a move for Saint Etienne striker Mevlut Erding.

The Turkish international has started the new Ligue 1 season in red-hot form with three goals in two games to help Saint Etienne to the top of the table.

Erding ended last season in fine style and his three goals so far this term takes his tally to 11 goals in the last 11 games for Saint Etienne.

The striker's form has alerted the interest of a number of Premier League clubs, with the 27-year-old thought to be available for as little as £7million.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is in the market for striking reinforcements and he is hoping to lure Erding to Loftus Road.

Agent Willie McKay confirmed QPR are interested in Erding, with Saint Etienne willing to do business for the right price.

"Erding is probably one of the most in-form strikers in Europe having scored three goals in the opening two games after ending last season in prolific form," McKay told Sky Sports.

"I am not surprised that he is attracting interest from a number of clubs and QPR are one club who have expressed an interest.

"Erding is available for around £7million and at the age of 27 he could prove to be a real bargain for someone in the Premier League as I am sure he would score goals in England."
