Premier League: Agent angered by Yannick Bolasie contract reports

Yannick Bolasie's representative has reacted furiously to reports in the media about his ongoing contract talks.

A Crystal Palace insider was quoted in a newspaper suggesting that Bolasie - who has one year left on his current deal - was looking for £40,000-a-week.

The story has emerged less than 24 hours after manager Tony Pulis left Palace, amid his own concerns over the club's transfer talks, and it is understood one of his concerns was their failure to agree a new deal with Bolasie.

But Bolasie's representative John Sorazano has been quick to vent his anger at the reports, which he insists are 'ill-timed' and clearly designed to unsettle the player.

"I can confirm that Yannick's contract talks have not collapsed over a £40,000-a-week wage demand – that’s just not true," he told Sky Sports.

"And considering the last 24 hours, this is all pretty low - this same club 'insider' was clearly the same person who released a story to the press only last month saying Yannick's new contract was agreed.

"Myself and Yannick have not and will not conduct our business in public, and this sort of story is nothing short of shocking and I will be doing my best to find out where it came from, and I will be speaking with the club to get to the bottom of it - as this is just not acceptable."
