Coventry have handed Marcus Tudgay a one-year deal after impressing during his trial with the club.

The 31-year-old striker had been training with the Sky Blues this summer after ending his three-and-a-half year with Nottingham Forest in March. Coventry manager Steven Pressley expressed his delight at the signing, telling the club's official website: "There have been a number of things about Marcus that have impressed me and he quickly underlined the reasons why I wanted to bring him here. "He's hungry, he's strong, he provides just the kind of attacking threat that we think will prove very effective in this division." Tudgay began his career at Derby before joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2006 where he scored 48 goals in 194 appearances. A loan spell at Forest followed in 2010 before he made the move permanent, bagging 10 goals in 57 appearances. He also spent loan spells at Barnsley and Charlton.
