Southend have announced the signing of free agent forward David Worrall on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old winger had his contract with Rotherham terminated by mutual consent earlier this week after only making three appearances for the club since joining in 2013. Worrall began his career at Bury before spells at West Brom, Accrington and Shrewsbury. He moved back to Bury permanently in 2010 where he went on to make 143 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals. "I'm absolutely thrilled that we have completed the signing of such a highly-rated winger," manager Phil Brown told the official club website. "He'll bring a huge amount to this football club."
