Morecambe have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of experienced forward Alan Goodall on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old had been with Jim Bentley's men during the start of pre-season training following his departure from Fleetwood and impressed the Shrimps boss enough to be offered a deal. "I have known Alan for a while and he is the perfect player for us," Bentley told the club's official website. "He has great experience at this level and can play in several positions in defence or midfield and he is a lad who has fitted perfectly into the squad." Goodall added: "Being from Liverpool I know the gaffer well and really respect what he and Ken McKenna have done at the club. "It didn't take long for me to see the dressing room spirit here was something special and I have really enjoyed myself here in pre-season and really think we have a side that can do well this year."
