Oldham boss Lee Johnson believes new signing Timothee Dieng has the ability to take Sky Bet League One by storm.

The versatile Frenchman joined Latics on a two-year contract which could become three on Monday following his release by Brest. Dieng, 22, made a big impression during Oldham's comprehensive pre-season friendly win at Curzon Ashton last week and his manager is confident he will prove to be a good addition to his squad. Johnson told the club's official website: "He has been in and really impressed us. We don't just bring trialists in on a whim, we believe he's got good pedigree. He's been at Brest and his brothers are both footballers. "He comes from a good family, he's a good character, good age, very athletic and we want to teach him a couple of roles. "We're generally delighted because we think he could be good in League One." Dieng joins Joseph Mills, Mike Jones, Brian Wilson and Liam Kelly as new arrivals at SportsDirect.com Park.
