Middlesbrough have agreed a deal with Spanish side Real Murcia for striker Kike.

The 24-year-old, full name Enrique Martinez Garcia, finished with 23 goals last season and was second top-scorer in the Segunda Division.

Real Murcia made the play-offs but they failed to make it to the top-flight after going out in the semi-finals and they have now agreed to let their prized asset move on.

Boro have now agreed a deal understood to be worth in excess of £3million for Kike, who has spent his whole career with Murcia.

The deal is expected to go through next week ahead and he should be free to link-up with Boro at the pre-season training camp in Marbella.

Kike will be Boro boss Aitor Karanka's second signing of the summer, and their second Spaniard, following on from the signing of goalkeeper Tomas Mejias, who concluded a permanent deal after previously being on loan from Real Madrid.
