Jordan extends Fleetwood stay

Fleetwood have extended Stephen Jordan's stay with the club, handing him a one-year deal.

The full-back has over 200 career appearances under his belt, with 11 coming for the Cod Army last year in his first season with the Lancashire club. After signing his new deal, he told the club's website: "The gaffer rang me whilst I was away on holiday and said that he wanted me to stay, so I am over the moon that I have signed a new deal. "I am really pleased everything has got sorted and I can't wait for the season to kick-off next month." Jordan's new deal comes in a busy period for Graham Alexander's men, as they prepare for life in League One for the first time. "It was a brilliant end to a great season for the club at Wembley and everybody says if you are going to get promoted, doing it via the play-offs is the best way. "The club is definitely on the up and long may it continue."
