Bowerman to repay Beattie faith

George Bowerman feels that he has a point to prove after he was given a new one-year deal at Accrington.

The 22-year-old striker spent time out of the game following his release by Walsall in 2013 but was given another chance by Stanley in October. Bowerman made 15 appearances in the 2013/14 campaign and is determined to prove his worth after being kept on by manager James Beattie. Speaking to the club's official website, Bowerman said: "There are always doubters about your career and it's up to me to go and prove them wrong. "The gaffer's given me a chance and I want to show him and the fans at Accrington that I can do the job. "You don't realise until you are out of the game how hard it is to get back in. There are that many people in football that want to be in your position that you have to grab an opportunity with both hands. "I've learned that the hard way. I'm trying to get my career back on track now."
