Wilcox expects Taylor to impress

Scunthorpe manager Russ Wilcox believes the club can bring the best out of latest signing Lyle Taylor.

The Iron paid Sheffield United an undisclosed fee for the 24-year-old striker, who has signed a two-year deal at Glanford Park. "He is quick, powerful, 6ft 2in, works hard for the team and scores goals," said Wilcox, who coached Taylor at Bournemouth three years ago. Wilcox added on the club's official website: "He is a great addition to the squad. "I think he's a terrific signing and I'd like to thank the chairman and the board for their backing regarding this move. "There is a fee involved which will be undisclosed but we've been able to get the lad over the line. "He was heading up to Scotland but we sort of hijacked the deal. "I worked with Lyle at Bournemouth and know what he can do. "At 24 he is at a good age and I think we can develop him, and turn him into an even better player."
