Carlisle have signed forward Billy Paynter and midfielder Gary Dicker on two-year deals.

Paynter, 29, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Sheffield United and he was released by Doncaster in the summer while 27-year-old Dicker joins United after his departure from Crawley. Carlisle manager Graham Kavanagh told the club's official website: "We're absolutely delighted that we've agreed terms with Billy. "There were other clubs interested but we've talked to him and we've also heard all of the right things about where he wants to go. "He's another player with experience and quality and we think he will be a great addition as we look to push on next season." Dicker played for Rochdale for the first half of last season and made a total of 26 appearances in 2013/14, scoring once. A delighted Kavanagh added: "Gary has a great pedigree and, yet again, a lot of experience. "He's another who will add to the squad and who really wants to come here and do a job. We're looking forward to working with him when we all get back together next week."
