Trio fit for MK Dons training

Long-term MK Dons injury victims Lee Hodson, Darren Potter and Ben Reeves are all expected to return to pre-season training next week.

The trio all missed large chunks of last season and have spent much of the off-season with the club in order to get themselves up to speed ahead of the new season. And the club's head of sports medicine Simon Crampton has revealed their respective recoveries have all gone to plan. He told the club's official website: "We've been very busy this summer; it's probably been the busiest one we've had for a few years. "We had Darren, Ben and Lee with us all through May. Ben and Lee are now fit and ready to go ahead with their pre-season programmes and although Darren is still with us at the moment, hopefully by pre-season he'll be ready to go back in. He continued: "(Ben) had quite a nasty injury to his ankle and was in a boot for six weeks so that slowed everything down. Because we knew he wasn't going to play a part in the remainder of the season, we were able to take our time with him and now he's ready to go back in. "(Lee) had some surgery on his hip and knowing that he was going to miss the rest of last season we took it nice and slow. We kept him in throughout May and now he's fully fit and will be able to partake in pre-season. "Darren had an Achilles injury, which was something he'd had problems with in previous years. We thought we'd got it right but it came back again after two years so it was important we got it right this time around. "We think we have done that now; he's started running outdoors, sprinting and changing directions and we're at a stage now where we're going to start his football-specific rehab. "When pre-season starts he'll start to join in with the boys but we'll probably tailor his programme a little bit. Certainly when the games come around he should be ready to join in with them."
