Tranmere have confirmed that Jason Koumas has accepted a coaching role with the club.

The 34-year old midfielder, who signed a new one-year deal last month, will work with the club's reserve and academy players while he trains for his coaching badges. The former Wales international is delighted to have the opportunity to step into coaching and told the club's official website: "The club offered me a coaching role after the season finished. "I've spoken to the manager about it and it's something we both want to do and I'm looking forward to it. "I enjoy watching football, I go to a lot of games and it's something I will get involved in. I'm taking the first steps this season and [in the future] I want to do a lot more. "The coaching role is great. Helping young players is something I want to do. I've got a lot of experience and I'm looking to use it."
