MK Dons duo earn extended deals

MK Dons have taken up the option of extending the contracts of midfielder Ben Reeves and Lee Hodson by another year.

The duo were set to be out of contract but will now stay at stadium:mk until at least the summer of 2015. Last week deals were also offered to out-of-contract trio Stephen Gleeson, Antony Kay and Mark Randall and Dons boss Karl Robinson is hopeful all three players will follow Reeves and Hodson and stay in Milton Keynes. "The two of them were important to us at the beginning of the season before we lost them for the back end of the year through injury," Robinson told the club's official website. "Ben was one of our starlets of the year whereas Lee got back to being a regular for the Northern Ireland international team. They are both still at a good age too. "I'd like people to sign longer deals and they know that, so hopefully we can keep their services for a longer period of time." Robinson added: "Obviously the reason why we've offered them contracts is because we want them to be here next year. I see them all as assets to where we want to go. "It's in their hands and they obviously have other things to consider but we're down the road with one or two and so we'll see where that goes."
