Barcelona have agreed a four-year contract extension with central defender Gerard Pique.
Pique is the latest in a long line of Barca players to sign new deals at the Nou Camp recently, including star playmaker Lionel Messi, who put pen to paper on a revised contract on Monday. Barcelona-born Pique came up through the youth ranks at his home-town club before joining Manchester United in 2004. After four years at Old Trafford, which included a spell on loan at Real Zaragoza, Pique returned to Barca in 2008 and helped form one of the most successful club sides in history under Pep Guardiola. He has won 16 trophies with Barca, including four Primera Division titles, two Champions League crowns and two Copa del Reys, while playing 266 competitive matches for the club and scoring 20 goals.
