Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas thinks Yoann Gourcuff will remain with the club this summer, whilst they are waiting to hear what coach Remi Garde will be doing.
Gourcuff has one year left on his deal at Lyon, but he has once again endured a frustrating campaign dogged by injury and he has started just 13 games.
Indeed since his big-money move from Bordeaux in 2010, Gourcuff has never quite made his mark.
And Aulas admits that he does not see Gourcuff leaving due to the fact he has had such a problematic campaign.
"There are more chances he could stay than he could go as he played quite rarely this term," said Aulas.
"He didn't play very often this year, so it will be difficult to find a solution for him."
Whilst Gourcuff looks set to stay the Stade Gerland, the future of coach Garde is far from certain.
He is out of contract in the summer and Aulas remains in the dark over his intentions.
"Garde? We would love him to stay. We want to keep him but it is up to him to make a decision. We will respect his personal thoughts."
