Marriott returns to Ipswich

Ipswich have recalled Jack Marriott from his loan spell at Gillingham and the striker is set to rejoin Woking until the end of the season.

Marriott linked up with League One Gills at the start of January but has managed just one substitute appearance during his time at Priestfield. Town have now taken the decision to end his loan stay at the Kent club and send him back out to Skrill Premier Woking, for whom he bagged eight league goals in seven appearances prior to January. Gills boss Peter Taylor told the club's official website: "The lad wants to play first-team games and unfortunately I can't guarantee him that. Jack is a good kid and we wish him all the best." Marriott, 19, recently signed a new 18-month contract at Portman Road.
