Shrewsbury have confirmed that defender Darren Jones has left the club by mutual consent.
The 30-year-old Welshman signed from Aldershot at the beginning of the 2012/13 season before going on to make 53 appearances and scoring one goal, but he has recently lost his place to Dave Winfield. A statement on Shrewsbury's official club website read: "Darren Jones has left the club this afternoon after the manager and Darren came to a mutual agreement on the remainder of his contract with the club. "The club wish Darren well for the future and thank him for all he has done during his time with the club."
