Northampton have completed the signing of defender James Hurst from Crawley on a one-month loan deal.

Hurst came through the youth ranks at West Brom before signing a professional contract with Portsmouth but never played first-team football. After a short stint with Icelandic team Valur, Hurst returned to West Brom but managed just one appearance in the Premier League. He has since featured for a number of clubs on loan before signing a one-year contract with Crawley in June 2013. Hurst has made 14 starts and 7 substitute appearances for Town so far this season.
