Wolves defender Danny Batth has finally put pen to paper on a new three-and-a-half-year contract at the League One club.
The 23-year-old Academy graduate has been in talks with Wanderers for some time with his existing agreement set to expire at the end of this season. And a deal has finally been done which keeps Batth at Molineux until the summer of 2017. Head coach Kenny Jackett told the club's official website: "Danny Batth signing a new contract is excellent news for us. "Sometimes an internal one is as good as any from the outside and that is the situation in this case. "I am very pleased personally that he has committed his future to the club. "On his performances and his attitude so far this season he is somebody that, going forward, we can now build things around." The centre-back, who made his first-team debut for Wolves in 2010, gained valuable experience during loan spells at Colchester, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday, twice, spending the entire 2011/12 campaign at Hillsborough. Batth finally broke into Wanderers' first team at the end of last season and has firmly established himself as a regular at the heart of Jackett's defence this term - the only player to start all 26 matches in League One. "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract," said Batth, a Brierley-Hill born boyhood Wolves fan. "I've been with Wolves since I was 11 years old so I know the club really well - the staff and the people here - and I think it is always important for players to come through the Academy and is hopefully a sign of things to come. "This is a place I can call home. "It's a family club and it feels like it's all getting back to what the club is all about with the work being done at the top by Steve (Morgan), Jez (Moxey) and Richard Skirrow."
