Shrewsbury have signed Oldham winger Sidney Schmeltz on a loan deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the season.

The Dutchman has made 23 appearances in all competitions for Latics this campaign, and has scored once. Shrews boss Graham Turner told the club's official website: "I'm delighted that Sidney's joining us, he'll certainly add something to the squad. "He's quick and skilful. We've had him watched a number of times and everything has been complimentary. "He caused us serious problems here when we got beat 4-1 and he scored, those things stick in your mind. I think Oldham want to freshen up their squad and have allowed one or two players to come out, so he's going to be on loan with us until the end of the season. "I think the crowd will take to him. He's got that ability and pace that supporters like to watch."
