York have confirmed the permanent signing of Keith Lowe on a two-and-a-half year deal from Cheltenham.
The 28-year-old defender impressed enough during a nine-game loan stint at Bootham Crescent to prompt Minstermen boss Nigel Worthington to complete a move. "We've had Keith Lowe here on loan for the last five weeks or so and he's done exceptionally well for us," the former Northern Ireland manager told the club's official website. "He's a player that I've admired for a long time and have monitored - once again it's another good addition to the group that we've got and hopefully he can continue the good work that he's started over the last four or five weeks with us." Lowe becomes the second Robins player to make the move north after Russell Penn also joined up with Worthington's men on Monday and the Minstermen's latest signing expressed his delight at the opportunity. "I'm really excited. I think I've slotted in well since I came here," Lowe said. "The lads have managed to stabilise results and things are looking positive, so I'm really excited to be part of it to be honest. "They have welcomed me in and made it really easy for me to settle, and so have the fans and staff who've been great to me." Lowe is expected to make his 10th consecutive appearance when York travel to Northampton looking for a third League Two win on the bounce for the first time this season.
