Hamburg midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has revealed his desire to work under Roberto Mancini at Galatasaray, fuelling speculation of a winter transfer.
The 19-year-old Turkey international has caught the attention of many top clubs in Europe since breaking into the Hamburg first team this season, but he only has eyes for one club - Galatasaray.
"It's true, Mancini wants me and I hope that I can work with him one day because he's a great coach," Calhanoglu told Turkish television station Beyaz TV. "There have been talks and my agent is in touch with Galatasaray."
Calhanoglu, who is contracted to Hamburg until 2016, is currently playing regularly first-team football at the Bundesliga outfit and he says that will be a consideration if a serious offer was to come in from Galatasaray.
"If I move, then I want to be playing in the starting XI," he added.
"That will be an important factor in my decision. If I were to join Galatasaray, then I know that I would be competing for a place with Wesley Sneijder."
