AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley wants to keep Michael Smith for the rest of the season.

The on-loan Charlton striker, who has scored seven goals so far this term, is due back at The Valley in January. Ardley told the Hounslow Chronicle: "We're really pleased with Smudger and will speak to Charlton to see what they have planned for him. "It's not up to just us. It's down to three parties - Charlton, the player and Wimbledon - it's not something that happens at the drop of a hat. "We are trying to develop him and hopefully Charlton are happy with his progress."
