Tisdale ponders Danny debut

Paul Tisdale is mulling over the prospect of handing Danny Butterfield his full Exeter debut in the Devon derby on Saturday.

The experienced former Crystal Palace right-back, a free agent after leaving Carlisle, signed for the club two weeks ago and was utilised as a late substitute in last weekend's victory over Fleetwood. And as he continues to take strides towards match fitness the Grecians boss has to decide whether to continue with Pat Baldwin in that position or hand Butterfield his first start against Plymouth. "He has been brought in with the plan of playing him so we have to decide when we need to play him and when he is ready to play," he told Press Association Sport. "He is an experienced player and he doesn't need much in the way of preparation, it is just whether he is physically ready for it and whether we need him. "He has come here to play and when he is ready he will play. "We've got enough options now and enough cover that I can put out a strong unit at the back."
