Portsmouth striker David Connolly has taken on a coaching role at the League Two club.

The 36-year-old, who joined the club in January, has scored 11 goals in 23 appearances and will help boss Guy Whittingham with first-team affairs at Fratton Park. Whittingham told the club's official website: "David has played at the highest level and for some very good clubs - his knowledge is excellent. "He will remain, first and foremost, an important player for us, but he wanted to learn more about the coaching side of the game. "David will work with me and Alan McLoughlin, with first team and development group input."
