Alan Hutton admits to being 'angry' that he was unable to get away from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.
The Scottish full-back has been frozen out under Paul Lambert and enjoyed a successful loan spell at La Liga side Real Mallorca last season.
Villa have, however, refused to sanction another short-term deal, leaving Hutton in footballing limbo.
He is still training away from the senior squad when on domestic duty and feels the way certain players have been treated is unprofessional and out of order.
He is not the only one to have been cast aside -with the likes of Barry Bannan, Stephen Ireland and Darren Bent enduring similar fates - but most have been allowed to link up with new clubs.
On his situation, Hutton told the Express and Star: "There were lots of us; Darren Bent, Stephen Ireland - I am talking international players - and Charles N'Zogbia, who have just been put to the side.
"For me it is not what should be done. We are not kids.
"I was buzzing for Barry that he got out (to Crystal Palace) because he is a great player and doesn't deserve to be treated like that.
"Unfortunately for myself, it didn't come off and I am angry about it."
