Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer's chances of playing for Australia have not been jeopardised by his status as second-choice at his club.
Australia boss Holger Osieck revealed he has discussed the situation with Schwarzer and Blues manager Jose Mourinho.
The 40-year-old, who is hoping to represent Australia at his third World Cup next summer, made the move to Stamford Bridge from west London rivals Fulham earlier this summer.
Osieck named Schwarzer and uncapped Borussia Dortmund stopper Mitchell Langerak in his 22-man squad for next month's friendly against World Cup hosts Brazil on Wednesday.
"The season is still very young in England and there are many competitions," Osieck said.
"He will get enough playing time. I have discussed it with Mark and with Jose Mourinho, of course."
