Iron bring in Spencer

Scunthorpe have signed striker Jimmy Spencer on loan from Huddersfield until January.

The 21-year-old has failed to hold down a regular place in the first-team squad at Huddersfield - he has made only one brief appearance as substitute - and has had previous loan spells at Morecambe, Cheltenham and Brentford. "Jimmy is fully fit following an injury and a complete pre-season, but now needs to get back into first-team football and match action," Huddersfield boss Mark Robins told the club's official website. "He enjoyed success at League Two level with Cheltenham during a previous loan spell so it should prove as a good starting point. "Scunthorpe are a team who we expect to be pushing for promotion this season so it should prove a good challenge for Jimmy. "They are also fairly close to home which means that we can monitor his progress closely."
