League Two club Portsmouth have handed a three-year contract to teenage defender Jack Whatmough.
The 17-year-old centre-half is a regular for Pompey's Academy side and was also an unused substitute, at the age of just 15, in the Capital One Cup defeat at Plymouth Argyle last season. Academy manager Andy Awford told the club website: "I'm delighted for Jack. "We will continue to work hard to help him develop and hope that he is someone who will go on to play first-team football in the future."
