League One side Brentford have signed former Barnet and Portsmouth goalkeeper Liam O'Brien on a short-term contract.

The 21-year-old, who has been training with the Bees this month having left relegated Barnet last season, will provide cover for number one David Button and rookie Jack Bonham while experienced keeper Richard Lee continues to recover from a long-term shoulder injury. Manager Uwe Rosler told the club website: "We've signed Liam on a short-term contract and then we will see how the situation develops. "From what Liam has shown in his short period at the club I'm delighted to have him here. "The risk is too high to have only two fit goalkeepers as Richard Lee is not able take part in full first-team training at the moment. "It will take a few weeks more and we want to be covered in all areas."
