Kilmarnock are looking to secure Kris Boyd's signature following his impact in a brief spell last season.
The former Rangers striker scored three goals in eight appearances after leaving MLS side Portland Timbers for Rugby Park in February.
The 29-year-old signed a short-term deal to re-join the club where he started his career, and new Kilmarnock boss Allan Johnston is keen get ahead of rival clubs in order to tie Boyd down.
"Kris knows I want him to stay," Johnston told the Daily Record.
"I am aware that other clubs are interested but I'm hopeful we can get something sorted out fairly soon."
