Yeoman delight at Gulls deal

Torquay striker Ashley Yeoman has spoken of his relief at being offered a new deal at Plainmoor.

The Gulls' youth product forced his way into Alan Knill's side at the end of last season and was rewarded with a one-year deal. But despite playing a key part in their successful survival bid Yeoman admitted he was nervous when he met the former Bury boss for contract talks. "The first emotion to being offered a new deal is probably relief because you never know what's going to happen, especially as we had a change of manager as well," he told the club's official website. "It was quite nerve-wracking for all of us because we had meetings with the manager after the season had ended and I was obviously very pleased to be offered a new deal. "He got straight to the point and said he was looking forward to working with me for another year. "For myself, I obviously want to play as many games as possible and hopefully start on a more regular basis."
