Laurence Wilson has penned a one-year contract with Accrington Stanley from next season.

The versatile 26-year-old, who can play at left-back or left midfield, joined Stanley in January as a free agent having been released by Rotherham. Wilson made 19 appearances on a deal which ran until the end of the season and new boss James Beattie, appointed first-team manager at the start of this week, has wasted little time tying down his services for another 12 months. Wilson told Accrington's official website: "I had a good chat with the gaffer and Paul Stephenson (assistant) and I am delighted to sign up for them, we had a great end to last season and I am really excited about what we can do next year."
