On-loan Wyke out for season

Hartlepool's on-loan striker Charlie Wyke has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a pelvic injury.

Wyke was withdrawn at half-time during Saturday's home win over Bury and after scans revealed the full extent of the damage the 20-year-old has returned to parent club Middlesbrough for treatment. "I'd like to thank Tony Mowbray and everyone at Middlesbrough for allowing Charlie to come here," Pools boss John Hughes told the club's official website. "He's got a really good attitude to his training and he's been a pleasure to work with every single day he's been with us." Wyke made 26 appearances during his six-month stay with the club, scoring two goals.
