Evans relieved as drought ends

Gareth Evans has expressed his relief after opening his Fleetwood account in the 2-1 win over Dagenham.

The midfielder marked his 10th appearance for the Cod Army by grabbing the second goal as they moved within three points of the 24-year-old's former club Rotherham in the final play-off position. And Evans hopes there are more goals to come in the run-in. He told the club's official website: "It is a bit overdue if I am honest. "I have been a bit unlucky not to score up to now but I am finally glad to get my name on the scoresheet and hopefully (I'll) get a few more between now and the end of the season." Evans also revealed he is much happier with life at Highbury than he was working for Steve Evans at Rotherham. "I have been really happy, the gaffer has been different class," he added. "To be honest, I didn't really get on with my previous manager and it has been well documented before I came, but the manager here is different class with me and he has played me as much as he possibly can really and he has looked after me."
